Tax impact of the Maypearl ISD School Funding Election.
If voters approve the School Funding Election, we will add 3¢ to our Maintenance and Operations tax rate.
Due to recent tax rate cuts, efficiency programs by the district, and the Texas Legislature recently increasing the homestead exemption, if the School Funding Election were to pass, our tax rate would remain 28% lower than 10 years ago.
The average homeowner in Maypearl ISD would see a $188 DECREASE in their property tax bill when compared to last year.
Senior residents who have filed their senior citizen homestead exemption will see no increase in their tax rates now or in the future.
100% of these new funds will remain in our district, rather than being recaptured by the state’s complex and confusing school finance system.
Maypearl ISD will continue with our efficiency policies that have earned us the highest rankings for transparency and district accountability by state agencies.
With the school district paying off previous bond debt early, the I&S rate was reduced by 3¢.
